About

Mairéad Bilton-Gough studied Journalism at university, sometimes. It was more drinking tea than studying really.

She interviews musos and writes gig/album review thingos for The Australia Times, ToneDeaf, The AU Review and FasterLouder, contributes witty little banters to Freerange Press, spent some time at turfmate and The Bureau Magazine, and has been known to do an irish jig, in competition. National championships in fact.

She’s been a little learning lady as an intern at TimeOut Magazine, Beat Magazine, SPress Magazine, Australian Teacher Magazine, and with the fancy Vic Gov people in the Strategic Communications Department of CFA.

She recently spent a heap of time, though perhaps not enough, writing an Honours thesis on the change in music journalism since it’s moved online. And in her spare time? HA! What spare time..

  1. Hi there, my friend Lyndal said you were looking for music journos for an honours project. I don’t do much outside of my blog at the moment, but i’ve written for street press, and was the editor for FasterLouder Qld for a while. Happy for you to send me an email if you like?
